Cupro Bemberg™

Cupro is a hybrid fiber made from a waste product from cotton production. It thus has a natural basis, which is then chemically finished. Due to the smooth surface and a round fiber cross-section, Cupro has a very soft and flowing feel that is reminiscent of silk - but on a plant-chemical basis instead of animal based. The final product is characterized by the following properties:

  • it has a smooth and cool surface, making it very comfortable to wear
  • it is a light, flowy, silk-like fabric
  • compared to conventional silk, Cupro has a high tear resistance

Cupro is always found on our website as Cupro Bemberg™. Cupro is marketed under the Bemberg name by the world's leading and only manufacturer from Japan (Asahi Kasei). According to Asahi Kasei, they have developed a production process that takes into account environmental needs. The active ingredients are almost completely recovered thanks to closed water circuits. The "Bemberg silk" is oeko-tex certified and biodegradable.
