MERINO WOOL

Merino wool is a special form of virgin wool and comes from the merino sheep, which is primarily native to New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and South Africa. The term 'virgin wool' generally means any type of wool from sheep. The fibers are very soft, strongly crimped, elastic and scaly. Therefore, merino wool has numerous advantages:

  • It does not scratch because the fibers are half as thick as those of ordinary virgin wool
  • It is one of the most breathable fibers of all, which is why there is no uncomfortable feeling on the skin when it rains and clothes get wet
  • merino wool actively adapts to changes in temperature. It keeps you warm when it's cold and vice versa
  • like other virgin wool, merino wool is odor neutralizing. That's why it has to be washed very seldom - often it's enough to carefully ventilate it outside
  • merino wool absorbs UV rays and offers natural protection of up to SPF 50
  • merino wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable
